Road Safety Communications Manager
Christine Fitzgerald and the LSCP project team analyse
collision data and identify locations for safety (speed and red light)
cameras.
They then work with London boroughs and the police to investigate locations with high casualty statistics and install new cameras.
The communications team works on educational resources, multimedia and promotional campaigns and community events. Both teams work with colleagues in the Metropolitan Police Service, City of London Police, London Councils and Her Majesty's Courts Service.
‘I've worked in road safety for over 23 years and am still passionate about saving lives on our roads.
I enjoy the variety that working with partners in other organisations offers and enjoy a good working relationship with our many colleagues.’
Road Safety Technology Manager
Hamish Keith works with colleagues in the field of road
safety, looking at how existing and emerging technology might help reduce
collisions on London's roads.
‘Working for the London Road Safety Unit is very rewarding, it's great to know that I'm helping to save lives as well as keeping traffic moving on London's roads.
Working with new technology is incredibly interesting. Seeing the development of intelligent speed adaptation (ISA) from research to implementation has been fantastic. Further developments in technology could help LRSU to reduce collisions in the future.’
