Motorcycle unit
European Safer Urban Motorcycling (eSUM)
LRSU's motorcycle unit is working with local authorities and industries from 6 European countries to share good practice and knowledge on motorcycling issues. Across Europe, collisions involving motorcycle are not declining in line with collisions involving other categories of vehicles.
The eSUM project began in June 2008, with each organisation being asked to take on a specific area of work. London was tasked with identifying successful urban motorcycle safety projects throughout the world.
In January 2009 the motorcycle unit produced an online best practice guide. This provides details of projects which have been effective in cutting motorcycle casualties in urban areas across the world.
