Motorcycle Unit hosts European meeting
The LRSU Motorcycle Unit hosted a meeting of European organisations taking part in a European Safer Urban Motorcycling (eSUM) project. The purpose of the meeting was to publish the Motorcycle Unit's "Best Practice Guide", which provides details of projects which have been effective in cutting motorcycle casualties in urban areas across the world. The eSUM project aims to reduce the number of motorcycle casualties on city roads in Europe.
Motorcycles to travel in bus lanes
From 5th January 2009 an 18 month trial allows motorcycles, mopeds, scooters and tricycles to travel in most red route bus lanes. Full details of the trial can be found on the TfL website.
National Road Safety Week posters
LSCP published posters (view posters online) created by Year 6 pupils from London on their website and in 2009 calendars.
Posters were created as part of a National Road Safety Week competition in November 2008. Calendars were delivered to every primary school in London.
