Transport for London's new guidance 'Travel planning for new development in London: incorporating deliveries and servicing.' offers advice on the preparation, implementation and monitoring of travel plans for new developments.
It is designed to help planning professionals in London's local authorities and the wider development sector secure high quality travel plans and ensure the movement of people and goods is managed for the life of a development.
This guidance provides advice on workplace, residential and other developments. It details the process, responsibilities and timescales for preparing a travel plan; content of the plan; implementation and monitoring requirements.
The Mayor's London Plan sets out an integrated economic, environmental, transport and social framework for the development of the capital over the next 20-25 years.
The Mayor's Transport Strategy sets out his plans for London's transport over the next 20 years.
Planning Policy Guidance 13 (PPG13) sets out the objectives to integrate planning and transport at the national, regional, strategic and local level and to promote more sustainable transport choices both for carrying people and for moving freight.
The guidance provides advice on how to produce high quality, robust travel plans outside of London. It has been produced by the Department for Transport for local authorities, developers and occupiers. It complements Transport for London's Guidance for workplace travel planning for development and Guidance for residential travel planning in London.
