Road Safety Education Manager
As Road Safety Education Manager, Janet Kirrage leads
a team of road safety officers, assistant road safety officers and a community
development specialist.
The road safety education team identifies, from data and research, key areas and then initiates and manages education, training and publicity of road safety projects to all sections of the community in London.
This includes people of all ages and every type of road user, (pedestrians, passengers, cyclist, riders, motorcyclists and drivers). The team works closely with road safety officers in London boroughs and with the emergency services.
‘Road safety is a fascinating and challenging area of work and choice of career. We are in the business of saving lives and actually making a difference to the 12 million people who live and work in London.
The quality of road safety work that this unit produces is world class in terms of campaigns, innovation and design. We still have much to do but we are making a difference.’
