Engineering
The engineering team works with the LRSU data team to identify locations on the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) and borough roads with a high number of collisions.
Engineers analyse collision data and make site visits, to observe traffic and road use. Following this they recommend appropriate engineering measures (for example traffic calming, amended signage, road markings).
Once measures have been put in place the engineering team works with the data team to monitor collisions.
The engineering team also ensures that any changes to the road layout are safety audited, to identify anything that might pose a risk for road users.
The engineering team is divided into three sections (north, south and central), each covering different boroughs in London.
