About us
Motorcycle unit
The motorcycle unit works closely with traffic police officers to increase motorcycle safety in London. Rider assessments are provided for both motorcycle and scooter riders. The unit also aims to raise the standard of riding in London through monitoring and enforcing riding standards, motorcycle road worthiness and rider documentation.
The motorcycle unit also works with European authorities and industry to identify and develop ways to encourage safer motorcycling in urban areas.
The motorcycle unit's major contribution to this project has been the production of a Best Practice Guide.
Future projects will focus on work-related road safety, trying to encourage London businesses to promote a culture of safe riding amongst staff and customers.
