Engineering

London Road Safety Unit

As a result of a close working partnership with data and research, where areas of higher risk are identified, the engineering team recommends improvements to the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) to increase safety for all road users. Information on the roads that make up the TLRN and an outline of the engineering process can be found in this section.

London boroughs can also request money from LRSU's engineering budget for local safety schemes and 20mph zones. LRSU engineers look at all requests and decide how to distribute funding across London.

Information on local safety schemes can be found in Borough spending.

Buses and trains converge outside London Charing Cross

The engineering area of the website also contains information on the road safety audit process carried out by engineers in LRSU and road safety skills training.
