The relationship between transport assessments & travel planstop
A travel plan is often prepared in conjunction with a Transport Assessment (TA). A TA demonstrates how the development proposal is likely to impact on the local transport system. It will identify how the travel plan can help address the impact of the proposed development through the promotion of sustainable transport options.

iTRACE and TRAVL compliancytop
In London, all development related travel plans should be ‘iTRACE compliant’. This involves undertaking initial data collection and monitoring in one of two ways:
- ‘iTRACE compliant’ surveys (as a minimum); or
- TRAVL compliant’ surveys (for larger developments).
