The Learning ZoneThe LSCP has just launched a fantastic and highly interactive online educational resource called the Learning Zone.
Specifically targeting teachers of Key Stage 3 & 4 (11-16 year olds), the Learning Zone offers an excellent opportunity for teachers to help students actively develop an understanding of the dangerous consequences of inappropriate speed and red-light running.

Motorists count the cost of speedingThe Police recently caught up with 2 serial speeders, making London's roads a safer place for everyone. The first dangerous driver appeared before Barking Magistrates Court to answer 15 counts of driving at excess speed. The driver pleaded guilty.

Redbridge Road SafetyThe LSCP's community trailer has been out and about over recent weeks at family fun days in Redbridge and Dagenham. Melbourne Field in Valentines Park played host to the Redbridge 999 Day on Sunday July 13th. The LSCP joined other road safety and community exhibitors, including vintage car enthusiasts, in a day of 999 themed activity.

What's your ChoiceRecently premiered at Kingston Odeon cinema and showing at every screening there throughout July, 'What's Your Choice?' is a road safety advert developed by the RoadStars young people's road safety group from the Royal Borough of Kingston. The RoadStars aim to engage young people with pioneering initiatives to raise their awareness of road safety in Kingston.

Safety workshops now offered for red light runnersIt may seem hard to believe, but two people every week are killed or seriously injured on London's roads by motorists who don't obey traffic lights. However, as part of a wider LSCP initiative aimed at changing driving attitudes, motorists detected jumping a red light may now be given the choice of attending an instructive workshop rather than receiving a fixed penalty fine and points on their driving licence.

Chingford collision reconstruction Among the many motorcycle and clothing manufacturers exhibiting at the recent MCN London Motorcycle Show held at Excel, visitors also had an opportunity to have a look at the first joint Safety Camera Partnership stand, which displayed two crashed motorcycles. Derbyshire Safety Camera Team and the LSCP worked together to engage with visitors to discuss road safety and safety cameras.

LSCP Van and at the Lord Mayor's Show 2007The LSCP recently joined the City of London Police to celebrate the Lord Mayor's Show with over 6000 people from organisations across London.

Half a million people take to the streets each year to watch the show, and millions more watch on TV. LSCP staff and two LSCP mobile camera vans joined the three mile long procession which starts at Mansion House.
